David Umahi Makes Agreement for Fulani Herdsmen and Farmers in Adamawa

In what looks like a service to the Fulani Herdsmen, David Umahi of Eboyi state working leading a political Fulani Herdsmen peace committee with Farmers and helps Herdsmen to make agreement in Adamawa state in a proposal to end the hostilities.

The agreement is contained in a statement read by Gov. David Umahi of Ebonyi, who presided over a two-day town-hall meeting of farmers and herdsmen in Yola.
While they sign papers for Umahi, who is leading the Ad Hoc Team set up by Federal Government to fashion out lasting solution to the crisis nationwide, David Umahi may be used to expand the secret interest of the Fulani Herdsmen when he has failed to stop the Herdsmen intuition in his own state.
As if the Fulani Herdsmen who have already taken over a farmlands across the country will ever listen to his recommendation he stated,
“We recommend that the state and federal governments do group the herdsmen in the state into these gazetted reserves, use the anchor borrower scheme to develop them with modern facilities that will guarantee great yield of the cattle, make water, and grass available, schools, a veterinary clinic and milk factory production available.

“We noted that with the increase in cattle, crop production and decrease of land, due to climate changes, there will continue to be conflict unless cattle movement is restricted into grazing reserve and ranching,” Umahi said.
