A Village School in Cross River Constructed with Mud Begins to Collapse after Termites Attack

The Millions of Dollars stolen from Biafra land does not appease the conscience of Nigerian politicians who continue to neglect the rural communities especially in the so called Niger Delta.
In spite of the millions budgeted over the years on education, it is unfortunate to find some schools in villages which were constructed with red mud being destroyed by Termites when the government failed to build a modern class room.

In Cross River state, Ike Uchechukwu, a youth leader, of Agoi-Ibami community, Yakurr Local Government Area, Cross River State, have raised the alarm that termites have overrun the Apostolic Primary School in the community, causing the roof and the mud structure to crumble.

Pupils learn under roof that leaks •Dilapidated building invaded by termites, neither the pupils nor the teachers could learn and teach in a conducive environment, as the roof of their classrooms were leaking and the structure collapsing as a result of the attack by termites and other weather conditions. A community leader, Chief Mathias Ibor, called on the Ministry of Education, Calabar, and other relevant government agencies to take urgent steps to ameliorate the suffering of the teachers and pupils of the school by giving them a good structure.
