PREASURE FROM TRUMP FORCES BUHARI TO MAKE A “TECHNICAL STOP OVER TO BRITAIN”

In what looks like a disturbing mode of President Buhari over the outcome of his meeting with President Donald Trump on 30th April 2018, the president against his official trip plan made what presidency described as “technical stopover” in London despite his recent visit to London. Analysts are speculating what might be the reason for his sudden stopover despite his recent visit to London.

While many attribute the technical stopover to his health condition, others say it might have to do with his plan to brief Britain of the disturbing out come of the meeting he had with U.S President.
Meanwhile Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity Malam Garba Shehu, in a text message to newsmen thursday afternoon, explained that Buhari’s technical crew decided to break the long US trip to refuel and do routine checks. ‎Shehu said,

“The big jet is under repair. It has been taken for major repairs. So the President is using a small plane and there is a limit to the distance the small plane can cover. So, the technical stopover I talked about is that the journey from US to Abuja is broken into two.

Technical stopover is that the plane stops at a point, refuel, do some checks and then proceed on the journey. This is very normal. There is nothing unusual about it. In any case, they are already on their way back home.
Also the Peoples Democratic Party on Thursday asked for full disclosure about President Muhammadu Buhari’s “technical stop-over” in London.

“President Buhari left the U.S after his visit with President Donald Trump on Tuesday and he is yet to arrive in the country.
“To explain his absence, his media unit revealed that the President had stopped over in London for technical reasons,” the party said.

The opposition party in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, shared on its verified Twitter handle, “@Mbuhari Technical Stop Over In London: We charge the Presidency to end their official secrecy and come clear on the reasons for President Muhammadu Buhari’s alleged ‘technical stopover’ in London.

“We invite Nigerians to note that @MBuhari left the United States 48 hours ago and embarked on an unofficial visit to United Kingdom for undisclosed reasons without transmitting a letter to the National Assembly. This is impunity and another constitutional breach
“MBuhari had, on Tuesday, left the United States, where he had an embarrassing and fruitless outing and instead of returning to the country, detoured to the UK for another private visit without regard to full disclosure requirements of our constitution and laws.

“The Aso Rock must understand that President @MBuhari is not a private citizen and as long as his upkeep and itinerary is sourced from our hard-earned resources, there must be full disclosure, as citizens deserve to know the purpose of the visit and the cost to our nation,” the statement said.
